It belongs to a group of drugs called anti-metabolites and is used to treat Hairy cell leukemia, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphomas. It acts by inhibiting the ability of a cell to produce DNA or repair DNA.
