Pemetrexed Disodium belongs to a class of chemotherapeutic drugs called folic metabolites .It is prescribed for the treatment of pleural mesothelioma and nonsmall cell lung cancer. By inhibiting the formation of purine and pyrimidine nucleotides, Pemetrexed prevents the formation of DNA and RNA, which are required for the growth and survival of both normal cells and cancer cells. During this medication therapy it is considered to produce side effects such as low blood counts,  mental fatigue and sleepiness, nausea, vomiting and skin rashes. It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver diseases.
